Gibson bemoans 'worst feeling' after Bulls' four-overtime loss
Chicago Bulls' Taj Gibson stressed the positives despite being left with a particularly sour taste after their four-overtime loss on Friday.
Taj Gibson bemoaned Chicago Bulls' 147-144 fourth overtime period loss to Detroit Pistons as "the worst feeling".
The Bulls were on the wrong end of a marathon game at the United Center on Friday, with the Pistons finally sealing victory after 68 minutes of play.
Detroit's win was secured when a potential game-tying three-pointer from Jimmy Butler bounced off the rim, dropping the Bulls to 15-9 for the season after losing their first game in five.
"It's the worst feeling right now," Gibson said. "It would have been a great win, especially for morale's sake, just learning from it.
"But I think it's good for us. We're going to take that game and learn from it. It's a positive. Derrick [Rose] played well. Jimmy played well. Pau [Gasol] played well. We just got to keep moving forward."
Victorious coach Stan Van Gundy said: "I think for [Bulls coach] Fred [Hoiberg] and I, it was excruciating. But maybe for you guys it was fun. It was an epic game. You don't play too many four overtime ones. I've never been in one.
"It was incredible, but it’s only fun if you're on our end of it. It's excruciating if you're on their end of it, and it's excruciating while you're going through it. Fun was not part of it for me."
