China seal stunning comeback win over South Korea
Several places in the second round of the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship were secured in Thursday's action.
A thrilling fourth-quarter comeback helped hosts China qualify from Group C of the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship in spectacular style with a 76-73 win over South Korea.
Korea had opened up a 66-51 lead with under eight minutes left, but a 6-0 run in a minute of play gave China momentum.
Zhou Qi's dunk with less than 60 seconds to go put them ahead, before Guo Ailun's lay-up consolidated the advantage.
Korean forward Cho Sung-min had one last chance to force overtime from wide left, but it fell off-target to give the hosts in Hunan victory.
Elsewhere in Group C, Jordan got themselves on the board with a comfortable 98-69 win over Singapore, and will hope a meeting with China in their final pool game sees the hosts in celebratory mood as they look to sneak through.
Japan bounced back from their opening defeat at the hands of Iran by hammering Malaysia, who were as a result eliminated from Group A, 119-48.
Iran picked up their second win, 88-66, over India, though both sides will go through to the second round alongside Japan.
Group D is also decided with Qatar beating Lebanon 105-100 in overtime to keep up their winning record. Both go through alongside Kazakhstan, who saw off Chinese Taipei 84-73.
Progression remains up for grabs in Group B, however.
Palestine secured their second-round spot with a 90-69 triumph over Kuwait, but Philippines' 101-50 win against Hong Kong keeps the pool alive.
