Djokovic powerful message to Zverev: "You were there because you were spying on me."
The quarterfinals of Roland Garros promise a thrilling finale. Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev will face off this Wednesday in the last of the four matches a high stakes, evenly matched showdown that has tennis fans buzzing with anticipation.

Champions League Trophy Steals the Spotlight
Both players come into the match in excellent form, having secured four convincing wins. Djokovic gave another commanding performance on Monday, defeating Britain Cameron Norrie 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 on Court Philippe Chatrier to close out the day session.
Just before that match, the stadium experienced a special moment when Ousmane Dembélé appeared with the UEFA Champions League trophy, recently won by PSG after a dominant 5-0 victory over Inter Milan.
Zverev didn’t miss the chance to take a photo with the trophy a moment he and the official Roland Garros account shared on social media.
Djokovic Couldn’t Resist a Playful Jab
The world No. 1 responded with his trademark humor:
“Be honest. You were there because you were spying on me. Seeing the trophy was just an excuse,” Djokovic wrote on social media, sparking laughs and reactions from fans.
A Rivalry with History and Some Tension
This will be the 14th meeting between Djokovic and Zverev, with the Serbian leading the head-to-head 8-5. However, their last six encounters have been perfectly balanced (3-3), showing just how tight their rivalry has become.
Their most recent clash came in the semifinals of the 2024 Australian Open, a match that ended in controversy. Djokovic unexpectedly retired after losing a lengthy first-set tiebreak, causing confusion among the crowd. Zverev, in turn, criticized the fans for what he perceived as a lack of respect toward a ten time Melbourne champion.
Their only previous Roland Garros meeting was back in 2019, where Djokovic cruised to a 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 victory. In this 2024 edition, Djokovic withdrew from the quarterfinals due to a knee injury, paving the way for Casper Ruud. Zverev eventually reached the final, where he was defeated by Rafael Nadal.
On Wednesday, Paris will once again witness a clash of titans with history, tension, and top-tier tennis guaranteed.
