Carlos Alcaraz Warns: “The Best Version of Me Is Yet to Come”
World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz is enjoying the best moment of his career after defeating Taylor Fritz at the Six Kings Slam, but the Spaniard insists that his best version is still on the way.
World No. 1 Enjoying His Peak Form
Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the current world No. 1, admitted he is going through the best stage of his career after defeating American Taylor Fritz in the semifinal of the exhibition tournament Six Kings Slam. However, the Murcian star believes his evolution is far from over: “This is, without a doubt, the best moment of my career, but there’s still a better Carlos to come,” he said in front of more than 8,000 spectators.
The 22-year-old from Murcia will face the winner of the other semifinal between Italian Jannik Sinner and Serbian Novak Djokovic, two of the most formidable rivals of his generation. Amid his outstanding form, Alcaraz highlighted his happiness and confidence on court, noting that he is enjoying every moment of this stage.
The Defining Moments of His Season
The Roland Garros and Monte Carlo Masters 1000 champion pointed to those tournaments as the most significant moments of his year. “I’ve had great moments both on and off the court. This has been my best season so far, without a doubt. If I had to pick one moment… I’m not sure, it’s hard to choose. Winning Roland Garros was amazing. In Monte Carlo, I came off a loss in Miami and was able to recover mentally and physically to play great tennis again,” he explained.
At just 22 years old, Alcaraz continues to establish himself as one of the new icons of world tennis. His ability to bounce back from setbacks and maintain elite-level consistency has positioned him as the natural successor to the dominance of Djokovic over the last decade.
No Favorites for the Final
Looking ahead to Saturday’s final, Alcaraz avoided choosing a favorite: “The match between Sinner and Djokovic is one of the best we have in tennis right now. It’s going to be great to watch. Both are playing incredibly well. I’ll enjoy the match and let the fans decide who wins.”
With that calm yet ambitious mindset, Carlos Alcaraz makes one thing clear: his story is only just beginning — and the tennis world still hasn’t seen his very best version.
