Real Madrid defender Huijsen out of Spain's squad
Spain need just a point against Turkiye on Tuesday to book their place at next year's World Cup, but Dean Huijsen will not feature.
Spain will be without defender Dean Huijsen for Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against Turkiye.
Luis de la Fuente's team, who are also without talisman Lamine Yamal, made light work of Georgia on Saturday, winning 4-0.
That victory ensured La Roja have now set a new national record for consecutive competitive matches without defeat (30 games).
It also means they require just a point against Turkiye to qualify as Group E winners, albeit their superior goal difference means qualification is all but assured anyway.
However, Real Madrid centre-back Huijsen will not be part of the squad that faces Turkiye.
The 20-year-old has been suffering from muscular discomfort that saw him miss the Georgia match, and Spain have now sent him back to Madrid.
Sunday's statement from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) stated that "as usual", it was "priotising the health and well-being of the player at all times."
The furore between Spain and Barcelona over the handling of Yamal has been a subplot throughout La Roja's World Cup qualifying campaign.
