(VIDEO) All the Goals from Georgia vs Spain in World Cup Qualifiers
The Spain National Team is virtually through to the 2026 World Cup after a dominant 4–0 win over Georgia in Tbilisi, led by a standout performance from Mikel Oyarzabal.
Spain Dominates and Virtually Secures World Cup Qualification
The Spain National Team delivered another statement performance in the World Cup Qualifiers, defeating Georgia 4–0 on the road to all but secure their ticket to the 2026 World Cup.
Despite being without key regulars such as Rodri, Pedri, Dani Carvajal, Lamine Yamal, and Nico Williams, Luis de la Fuente’s squad displayed complete control, fluidity in possession, and clinical finishing from start to end.
Spain opened the scoring early after a handball inside the box allowed Mikel Oyarzabal to calmly convert from the penalty spot, sending Giorgi Mamardashvili the wrong way. Minutes later, Martín Zubimendi doubled the lead with a superb finish following a precise assist from Fabián Ruiz, confirming his rapid rise as an essential midfield figure for La Roja.
Oyarzabal and Ferran Lead Spain’s Ruthless Attack
Spain’s dominance carried into the second half. Oyarzabal, in exceptional form, combined with Ferran Torres to score Spain’s third goal after a smooth attacking sequence. Later, Ferran returned the favor by delivering a perfect curling cross that Oyarzabal headed into the corner for Spain’s fourth of the night.
Even as Georgia pushed forward through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, goalkeeper Unai Simón responded with confidence, denying the home side’s rare attempts.
Spain’s efficiency was striking: three shots on target, three goals in the first half, and a near-total suppression of Georgia’s counterattacking attempts. With unity, discipline and high-level execution, De la Fuente’s team once again showed why they are among Europe’s top contenders.
With this result, Spain maintains an immaculate qualifying run—undefeated and without conceding a single goal. Only a catastrophic seven-goal loss to Türkiye in Sevilla would deny direct qualification, an almost impossible scenario.
Beyond securing their World Cup berth, Spain also continues to solidify a collective style marked by talent, cohesion, and maturity.
