Vincenzo Montella has been dismissed from his role as Turkiye's head coach.
Montella sacked by Turkiye
Turkiye started their Nations League campaign with four straight defeats, and coach Vincenzo Montella has paid the price.
Turkiye started their Nations League campaign with four straight defeats, going down to France, Italy (twice) and Belgium.
They also suffered an early exit at this year's World Cup, going out in the group stage.
Montella took over the Turkish national team in September 2023, and successfully guided them to both Euro 2024 and the 2026 World Cup, but his team failed to go deep at either tournament.
A brief statement issued on the TFF website read: "It has been decided that Mr Vincenzo Montella will not continue as our national team."
Montella previously coached AC Milan, Fiorentina and Sevilla.
The Italian won 21 of his 40 matches in charge of Turkiye (52.5%), suffering 14 defeats.
