AC Milan boss Ruben Amorim says Alphadjo Cisse owes him nothing after the teenager's hat-trick against Salzburg.
Milan's hat-trick scorer Cisse owes Amorim nothing
Alphadjo Cisse netted a hat-trick as AC Milan dispatched Salzburg 4-0 in the Europa League.
Milan cruised to a 4-0 victory in the Europa League on Thursday, with Cisse putting them 3-0 up by the 49th minute.
Goncalo Ramos then got in on the act at Red Bull Arena, as Milan bounced back from their MD1 loss to Benfica in style.
Cisse got all four of his shots on target, and he now leads Milan's scoring charts this season, with five goals.
And Amorim says the 19-year-old is responsible for his breakthrough.
"He doesn't owe anything to me, he deserves the chances he's getting because of what he’s doing on his own," Amorim told Sky Sport Italia, as quoted by Football Italia.
"He knows how to be explosive. He has a lot of heart, but he can do better in training and in games as well. All the congratulations go to him, but he has a lot of potential and things to improve."
Milan have now won 10 of their 14 major European matches against Austrian sides (D3 L1). They also beat Salzburg 4-0 in the Champions League in 2022.
The Serie A giants were clinical, getting 10 of their 15 shots on target and creating chances worth a combined 3.38 expected goals.
But Amorim feels there is a lot for his team to work on.
"We've had more control in other games, but we managed to score goals," he said.
"We've played better in other games, but we focus too much on the result. There are things to improve, but it was a nice evening."
