All-English Europa League final! Manchester United and Tottenham chasing glory in Bilbao
After a dominant first-leg performance where the Red Devils beat Athletic Club 3-0, Manchester United aimed to finish the job at Old Trafford—and they did, securing another appearance in the UEFA Europa League final. Meanwhile, Tottenham also delivered, defeating Bodo/Glimt to book their spot as the second finalist in the European tournament.
In the return leg, Manchester United was briefly shocked when Mikel Jauregizar scored in the 31st minute. However, in the second half, Mason Mount (72’) and Casemiro (79’) turned the game around for Rúben Amorim’s team. Rasmus Højlund sealed the win in the 85th minute, sending United to the European final—despite their coach previously calling them "the worst team in the Premier League."
On the other hand, Tottenham got the job done in Norway with goals from Dominic Solanke in the 63rd minute and Pedro Porro in the 69th. Although Bodo/Glimt created several clear chances, they failed to convert them—unlike the London side, who made the most of their opportunities.
With these results, we will have an all-English UEFA Europa League final, as both teams chase glory on May 21 at the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao.
