Trent Alexander-Arnold Reveals What He’ll Do If He Scores Against Liverpool at Anfield
Fate didn’t take long to script this reunion. Just four months after leaving Liverpool, Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to return to Anfield — this time wearing the white shirt of Real Madrid. The English full-back, a symbol of the Reds for nearly a decade, will face an evening filled with nostalgia, emotion, and mutual respect.
A Return Full of Mixed Emotions
“Honestly, if I scored, I wouldn’t celebrate,” Trent told Prime Video ahead of the clash. “How I’m received is up to the fans. I’ll always love the club and always be a fan. I’m forever grateful for the opportunities and for everything we went through together.”
A product of Liverpool’s academy, Alexander-Arnold won every possible title under Jürgen Klopp and admits that facing his former team in the Champions League feels like destiny.
“I knew it was bound to happen at some point,” he said. “It’ll be a very tough match, but one I’m really excited to play — on one of the biggest stages possible.”
Settling Into Life at Real Madrid
At 27 years old, Trent is experiencing his first footballing adventure outside England. Though he’s adjusted well under Xabi Alonso, he admits that language remains his biggest challenge.
“I really like LaLiga — the food, the weather, the culture. I take three hours of Spanish lessons a week, but it’s still hard when people speak fast. Xabi speaks to me a lot in English so I can fully understand what he wants,” he shared.
He also mentioned his close friendship with Jude Bellingham, his teammate for both club and country:
“Jude’s still my best mate here. He’s the most stylish one — takes his hair way too seriously,” he joked.

Admiring His Childhood Idol
More than adapting to Spain, Alexander-Arnold is enjoying working under one of his childhood heroes.
“I remember the Istanbul final — I was really young, but I’ve watched it so many times. Xabi scored an iconic goal on such a special day for Liverpool,” he recalled. “In our first conversation, I told him I grew up watching him and Gerrard; the way they passed the ball was art. When Xabi hits it in training, it still sounds different.”
A Bond That Won’t Break
While the Anfield crowd may show mixed emotions toward his return, Trent insists his love for Liverpool remains untouched.
“Nothing will change that. I have memories that will stay with me forever,” he said calmly.
Now thriving in Madrid — settled, focused, and playing for Europe’s most decorated club — Trent Alexander-Arnold stands at the crossroads of passion and destiny: facing the team that made him, in the stadium that shaped his legend.
