While English teams try to explain the collective setback, several European clubs seized the opportunity to move closer to the Champions League quarterfinals.

Bayern Munich sent a strong message by comfortably defeating Atalanta, while Bodø/Glimt continued its remarkable run by beating Sporting CP 3-0, putting the Norwegian side in an excellent position to advance.

The final tally for the Premier League speaks for itself: four defeats and two draws in six matches. The second legs will now become a major test for English football, which must respond quickly to avoid a potential wave of eliminations from Europe’s most prestigious competition.
