UEFA has announced its individual awards for the 2025/26 Champions League season, naming Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as Player of the Season and Arda Güler as the competition's breakthrough player.

Both stars played major roles for their clubs during a campaign that ended with Paris Saint-Germain lifting a second consecutive European title.

Kvaratskhelia inspired PSG's title run

The Georgian winger was one of the standout performers of the tournament, finishing with ten goals and six assists.

He also played a crucial role in the final against Arsenal by winning the penalty that allowed Ousmane Dembélé to level the score for Luis Enrique's side.

One of Kvaratskhelia's most memorable performances came in the first leg of the semifinals against Bayern Munich, when he scored twice in a thrilling 5-4 victory.

Arda Güler named the tournament's breakthrough player

Real Madrid midfielder Arda Güler received UEFA's new breakthrough player award, created to recognize young footballers who make significant progress during a Champions League campaign.

UEFA's Technical Observers Group highlighted the Turkish international's remarkable development throughout the season.

After starting just one Champions League match in 2024/25, Güler became a regular starter this season, making 13 starts in 14 appearances.

The numbers behind Güler's rise

The 21-year-old finished the competition with two goals and four assists.

His first Champions League goals came in the quarterfinals against Bayern Munich, while one of his most influential performances arrived in Real Madrid's league-phase victory over Juventus, where he earned Player of the Match honors thanks to his creativity and midfield control.
