Jude Bellingham Reveals Inside Details From the Real Madrid Dressing Room
The English midfielder calls for unity and expresses full confidence in Xabi Alonso after the defeat to Manchester City.
The recent 1–2 loss suffered by Real Madrid against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League could have triggered frustration within the squad. However, Jude Bellingham chose a different tone—one of togetherness, self-reflection, and unwavering trust in the project led by his manager. Despite his youth, the English star has quickly become one of the team’s most influential voices, offering an honest look at what is happening behind the scenes at the club.
Strong Support for Xabi Alonso and a United Dressing Room
Bellingham did not hesitate to praise Xabi Alonso, highlighting an “excellent relationship” with the Spanish coach. He also noted that many of his teammates hold the manager in equally high regard. At a time when results have created turbulence around the club, his message aims to reinforce Alonso’s leadership and bring calm to the Madrid environment.
The midfielder acknowledged that the team is undergoing a difficult stretch marked by several draws and back-to-back home defeats. But instead of dramatizing the moment, Bellingham emphasized that the squad remains composed and focused on improvement. According to him, the players have held open and constructive discussions inside the dressing room—conversations necessary to correct course.
“No one is giving up or complaining,” he suggested when describing the internal atmosphere. To Bellingham, Real Madrid possess the collective strength to regain momentum and return to the level expected of one of Europe’s most feared clubs.
Self-Criticism, Competitive Tension, and the Haaland Incident
Bellingham also spoke about how the squad handles pressure. He acknowledged that although recent results have not been favorable, any solution must come from within the group rather than from outside noise. He added that sometimes the team simply needs a touch of luck or deeper tactical adjustments to get back on track.
His competitive fire was on full display during the match against Manchester City, especially during the decisive penalty situation. Facing his former Borussia Dortmund teammate Erling Haaland, Bellingham attempted a small psychological maneuver by reaching for the striker’s topknot in an effort to unsettle him. Rúben Dias stepped in immediately, allowing the Englishman only the slightest touch. Haaland remained unfazed and converted the penalty past Thibaut Courtois with characteristic composure.
Despite the setback, Bellingham insisted that the squad’s conviction remains intact. The English midfielder believes the Real Madrid dressing room has the maturity and character needed to overcome this rough patch and return to the level demanded by European competition.
