Camavinga Apologizes After Real Madrid’s Elimination
Midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has become the center of criticism after his red card in the Champions League clash between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, a moment that ultimately changed the course of the match. The Spanish giants were eliminated from the competition, with much of the blame falling on the French player.
Amid the backlash and growing pressure from supporters, Camavinga took to social media to take responsibility and apologize. “I take responsibility for my part, I want to apologize to the fans and my teammates… Hala Madrid always,” the player wrote.
Criticism and Internal Tension at the Club
The message has not been enough to calm dissatisfaction among Real Madrid fans, who view the Frenchman as one of the main culprits behind the elimination. Additionally, his recent performances have been below his usual standard.
Camavinga has struggled with physical issues throughout the season, including injuries and a controversial absence due to dental problems that drew criticism within the club. In that context, former player and current coach Álvaro Arbeloa made a remark seen as a subtle jab: “I’m very happy with the attitude, with those who wanted to be here… these are the moments where you see Real Madrid players, and today I saw many,” he said before the match against Celta de Vigo, which the French midfielder missed.

A Crucial End to the Season to Bounce Back
On the pitch, Camavinga has also struggled to secure a consistent role. In the Champions League, his involvement was limited: he did not play in the first leg against Bayern Munich, and in the second leg he came off the bench. In the tie against Manchester City, he only featured for around 20 minutes.
The relationship between the player and the Real Madrid environment is currently strained. However, important fixtures remain, including LaLiga and El Clásico, where club president Florentino Pérez has reportedly urged the team to finish the season with dignity.
The final stretch of the campaign will be decisive for Eduardo Camavinga to regain form, rebuild his connection with the fans, and prove his value within the squad.
