Beckham Criticizes the Refereeing the UEFA Champions League During the Semifinal Between Atlético and Arsenal in London
The owner of Inter Miami and former international footballer with England spoke out against the refereeing in the Champions semifinal.
Second-leg and Arsenal victory
The second leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinals left us with the elimination of Atlético de Madrid from the competition, following Arteta's Arsenal's 1-0 victory. Arsenal secures its first spot in the final of the top European competition after 20 years of absence in this stage. After a goal by Bukayo Saka in the last minutes of the first half, Atlético Madrid couldn't recover, and Arteta's team won by the narrowest margin.
Beckham's Critics
The match referee, Siebert, was criticized and the subject of discussions during and after the match, one of which was the comments from owner and former footballer David Beckham, who spoke out against some of the actions taken by the referee, "Oh, my God. Oh, that's not a foul. That's not a foul. This one (Calafiori) is! Yes! That wasn't a foul by Gabriel," Beckham stated on the television show 'Beckham & Friends'.

Praise from the former player and owner
He also had the opportunity to talk about the match's goalscorer Bukayo Saka: "You have Bukayo Saka back and we know that Arsenal, I feel, is a better team with him on the field," said Beckham. The truth is that Arteta's team secured a spot in the final of the biggest international club competition in Europe and will wait to see who their opponent will be, either Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain.
