2026-27 Champions League: All opponents, start date and everything to know about the League Phase

The 2026-27 Champions League League Phase matchups are set. The draw in Monaco determined all eight opponents for each of the 36 participating clubs, producing heavyweight clashes from the opening stage including Barcelona vs PSG, Real Madrid vs Inter, Arsenal vs Bayern Munich and Manchester City vs Barcelona.

The clubs were divided into four pots of nine teams based on the UEFA rankings, with each participant drawn against two opponents from each of the four pots for a total of eight different matches.

The draw determined the paths for Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Inter, Atletico Madrid and the rest of the 36-team field.

When does the Champions League League Phase begin?

The 2026-27 Champions League League Phase begins on Tuesday, September 8.

The eight-match phase will conclude on Wednesday, January 27, 2027.

Once all eight games have been played, the top eight teams in the standings will advance directly to the Round of 16, while the next 16 will compete in the Knockout Phase Playoffs.

Each club will face eight different opponents, two from each of the four pots.
