Rüdiger and Real Madrid Aim to Finish at The Top
The German defender of Real Madrid, Antonio Rüdiger, stated that his team, which clinched LaLiga two weeks ago, has had a "great season" and now aims to "finish at the top" with a double title if they win in the Champions League final on June 1 against Borussia Dortmund.
The player received the Mahou Five-Star Player award for April, which distinguishes him as the best footballer of last month.
"I am very happy. It shows that we have had a great season, and also on a personal level, it shows that the fans accept and value me. That is important. I feel good and confident in the team. We have had a great season and we want to finish at the top," he declared.
Rüdiger chose the penalty he converted in the penalty shootout of the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Manchester City as his favorite moment of the month.
"If I could choose a moment from April, it would be the penalty against City because nobody expected me to take the last one. The coach trusted me and I am happy to help the team. It is my job and I am always eager to do it," he concluded.
