PSG Take on History in the Champions League
PSG gets another shot at making it to the UEFA Champions League final when they face Borussia Dortmund in the semifinals.
PSG is up against history as they visit Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park this Wednesday, May 1st, for the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinals.
Now, here's the catch: PSG has never won an away game against Borussia Dortmund, with one loss and two draws in their three visits, including a 1-1 draw in this season's Champions League group stage. In fact, this is the first time two teams have faced each other in both the group stage and semifinals of the same campaign since Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in 2012/2013.
Furthermore, this marks PSG's fourth appearance in the Champions League semifinals. They lost all four matches in their previous two-legged ties (against AC Milan in 1994-1995 and Man City in 2020-2021), but they emerged victorious against RB Leipzig in a single-leg match in 2019-2020.
