PSG Eyeing Dortmund Comeback: Not the First Time
The PSG will seek a comeback in the second leg of the Champions League semifinals after falling 1-0 against Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park.
Following a 1-0 defeat in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals, PSG, led by Kylian Mbappé and Luis Enrique, will look to pull off an upset and overturn the scoreline at Parc des Princes on May 7th for the return leg, now playing on home turf.
However, staging a comeback doesn't seem impossible for the French side, as there's a stat that bolsters the belief that PSG will turn the tide and advance to the Champions League final, knocking out the surprise package of the knockout stage, Dortmund, led by Edin Terzic.
PSG has progressed to the next round in two out of their last four Champions League ties when they started by losing the first leg. What's remarkable about this stat is that the first of these two ties where they advanced to the next round was against Borussia Dortmund in the round of 16 of the 2019-2020 season.
For this reason, and simply because it's the Champions League, we can't be sure which team will advance to the next round. What we do know is that both Borussia and PSG will leave it all on the pitch to advance and secure a spot in the final at Wembley.
