PSG all smiles: Ousmane Dembélé trains at full pace under Luis Enrique ahead of the UEFA Champions League final
Spanish coach Luis Enrique Martínez, currently in charge of Paris Saint-Germain, had a lively chat this Friday with French winger Ousmane Dembélé during their final training session before the Champions League final, set for Saturday against Inter Milan at the Allianz Arena.
After Inter wrapped up their practice, PSG hit the pitch at Bayern Munich’s stadium for their last run-out before the big game, where they’ll be aiming to win their first-ever Champions League title. The session kicked off with a rondo in the middle of the pitch, moved into a possession drill, and wrapped up with some shooting practice.
Luis Enrique and Dembélé have a word
During the possession drill, Luis Enrique walked over to Dembélé and the two had a quick chat that lasted about a minute. It was a casual, relaxed exchange, and didn’t go unnoticed by those watching in the German stadium — showing just how strong the connection is between the coach and his player.
Unlike Simone Inzaghi, Inter’s boss, who gave away some clues about his starting XI by running a small-sided match, Luis Enrique kept his cards close to the chest. That said, there aren’t expected to be any big surprises in the lineup, which should feature Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia leading the attack.
People around the PSG camp feel confident about how Dembélé has responded physically — he’s handled the workload well and looks ready for the biggest match of the season. The coaching staff fully trust the French winger.
With everything in place for the big showdown, PSG are gearing up to make history in the final against an Inter Milan side that’s also hungry to get back to the top of European football.
