Optimism at PSG with Dembélé’s Possible Return Against Arsenal in the Champions League
‘L’Equipe’ reported that Dembélé could return to PSG training after the match against Strasbourg
The injury suffered by Ousmane Dembélé at the Emirates Stadium with 20 minutes remaining in the match—after scoring the winning goal—dampened the hopes of a PSG side well aware that only two teams in the entire history of the Champions League have managed to come back in the semifinals after losing the first leg at home. However, according to the latest reports published by ‘L’Equipe’, optimism is growing at PSG regarding his presence in the second leg against Arsenal at the Parc des Princes.

Reassuring Messages About Dembélé’s Condition
After the match at the Emirates Stadium, there was widespread uncertainty about the physical condition of Ousmane Dembélé, who immediately requested a substitution upon feeling muscle discomfort. It wasn’t an unfamiliar pain for him, as he has suffered countless muscle injuries throughout his career and knows exactly when something isn’t right with his body. In fact, Dembélé had been injury-free since December 2023, a sign of his improved physical condition. That’s why he didn’t want to take any risks by staying on the pitch and possibly worsening what initially didn’t appear to be a serious injury.
When asked about Ousmane Dembélé’s condition at a press conference, Luis Enrique sent a reassuring message to PSG fans. “Dembélé felt slight discomfort. It’s nothing, very minor. We’ll try to have him back for the second leg. He’ll undergo tests tomorrow.” Nuno Mendes echoed his coach’s comments: “Dembélé? He’s fine, just a bit tired. There are a lot of games. He’ll be with us.” Dembélé himself confirmed this in the mixed zone after leaving the Emirates Stadium, saying: “I felt something, but I’m fine.”
Dembélé Won’t Play Against Strasbourg
Back in Paris, Ousmane Dembélé was expected to undergo various medical tests to determine the extent of his injury, followed by an official club statement. However, no information has been released by PSG, and according to various media sources in France, that’s actually good news. It has even been confirmed that Dembélé has not suffered a muscle injury, but was substituted due to minor discomfort from accumulated fatigue over the course of the season.
According to ‘RMC SPORT’, Luis Enrique gave the team Wednesday off before resuming training yesterday to prepare for this weekend’s match against Strasbourg, aiming to extend their unbeaten away streak in Ligue 1 after surpassing Milan’s record in Nantes. As expected, Dembélé did not take part in that session and, unless something changes, he won’t be included in the squad. PSG doesn’t want to take any risks. But according to reports in France, a medical source from the club has confirmed that Dembélé is expected to rejoin training after the match against Strasbourg.
