Lunin or Courtois: Who Should Play in The Champions League final?
One of the main reasons behind Real Madrid's successful journey to the UEFA Champions League Final is Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, who has firmly taken over the goalkeeping duties ahead of Kepa. However, with Courtois's return, the question arises: who should play against Dortmund?
Iker Casillas, former Real Madrid and Spanish national team goalkeeper, winner of three Champions League titles, a World Cup, and two European Championships, among other accolades, already has his perfect candidate. He stated that he would choose Ukrainian Andriy Lunin for the final in Wembley.
"Courtois has just recovered and lacks match rhythm. He doesn't have to prove anything to anyone; he will return to being the best goalkeeper in the world. Lunin has consolidated himself and has shown that he is a reliable goalkeeper who can perform at any time. I believe that Lunin should continue playing," declared the legendary former Spanish player.
Real Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund on June 1st at Wembley at 3:00 PM ET, and as that date approaches, the debate will continue over who should occupy the white goal. Will it be the legendary Courtois, recently recovered from an injury that kept him out of the field for most of the season, or Lunin, who has demonstrated in every match why he is the starting goalkeeper for the "Merengues"?
