Lamine Yamal confident Barcelona will reach the Champions League final
FC Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal, who put in a standout performance in his 100th appearance for the club, says his team will give it everything in the second leg and is confident they’ll make it to the Champions League final.
Full belief in the comeback
“We thought we could win, but now it’s all about focusing on the return leg and getting the win,” said the young star from Rocafonda, who revealed he felt “something strange” during the warm-up after a shot, but managed to recover in time for the match.
“I give everything for the team. I tried to give my all. I wanted more, we wanted the win. We’ll go all out in the second leg, and I’m sure we’ll make it through,” he told Movistar after the game.
Not happy with just a draw
After the match, Yamal posed with a special shirt marking his 100th game, surrounded by teammates. But he wasn’t fully satisfied. “I always want to win — that’s what matters most to me. We didn’t get it today, so I was a bit frustrated. But now it’s about the next game — we’re coming for them,” he said.
At just 16 years old, Lamine Yamal became the youngest ever goalscorer in a European Cup semifinal — another historic moment in his already remarkable rise. “We’re one step away from the final. It’s 0-0 overall and we were the better team today, but that doesn’t count for much. We’ll do everything we can to go through,” said the young winger, convinced Barcelona will come out on top in Milan.
