Inter Milan Plays Mind Games over Lautaro Martínez's Injury: Will He Be Able To Play Against Barcelona?
Several media outlets in Italy have confirmed that Lautaro Martínez will be available to face Inter Milan
Robert Lewandowski is not the only one who might have experienced a miraculous recovery to be ready for the second leg of the Champions League semifinals. In fact, although Inter Milan has tried to mislead about the extent of Lautaro Martínez's injury, various media sources in Italy have confirmed that—pending the release of Simone Inzaghi’s squad list—the Argentine striker will indeed be available to face Barcelona.

“Lautaro is doing the impossible”
At first, there was a great deal of pessimism regarding Lautaro Martínez’s presence in the match scheduled for tomorrow at the Giuseppe Meazza, especially after he was forced to leave the first leg against Barcelona at halftime. However, as days went by, reports from Italy suggested the injury was far less serious than initially feared, and there was a possibility that Lautaro Martínez could, in the end, be available.
That said, Inter Milan refused to give any clues about the physical condition of Lautaro Martínez, who watched the last Serie A match against Hellas Verona from the stands at the Giuseppe Meazza. Still, Massimiliano Farris, assistant coach to Simone Inzaghi at Inter Milan, admitted that Lautaro Martínez was working hard to be ready: “Thuram and Dumfries did the impossible to be available in Barcelona, and Lautaro will do the same. We’ll monitor him day by day. But he’s going to try.”
Lautaro Martínez isn’t the only injured player Inter Milan is getting back
In a few hours, Inter Milan is expected to release the squad list for the match before Simone Inzaghi holds a press conference to clarify Lautaro Martínez’s exact status. We'll see if he keeps playing mind games, as it seems almost certain Lautaro will be named in the squad to face Barcelona, but it’s still unclear whether he’ll be fit to start.
Lautaro Martínez’s return isn’t the only positive news from Inter Milan's medical room in the past few hours. According to Sky Italia, Benjamin Pavard trained yesterday with the rest of the team and showed very positive signs ahead of possibly playing against Barcelona. So it seems that Inter Milan may be able to recover two key players in Simone Inzaghi's system.
