Iniesta full of praise for Luis Enrique and PSG
Andrés Iniesta, former FC Barcelona and Spain legend, had nothing but praise for Luis Enrique Martínez, the current Paris Saint-Germain manager who’s set to lead his team into the Champions League final against Inter Milan. “He’s an incredibly talented coach. I love the way he manages his teams, the way he communicates, how he works… He’s just amazing and I wish him all the best,” Iniesta said from Munich, where the final will be played.
Admiration for Luis Enrique’s work
The former Barça midfielder highlighted just how tough it is to reach the final stages in European competitions. “Winning trophies is never easy. Getting to moments like these is really hard, but it’s also beautiful to experience them again. Luis Enrique now has the chance to do that. I have friends at PSG, so we’ll see how it goes. I think it’ll be a great match.”
Iniesta also showed respect for the opposition. “Inter are a fantastic team too. They’re a historic club that’s always had amazing players—and still do. They make the difference. Reaching a final is no small feat, and they’re in a position to win it,” said the World Cup winner.
Special wishes for PSG
“We’re in for a great game, and I hope everyone enjoys it. I’ve got friends at PSG, and it would make me really happy if they could win it. But above all, I just hope it’s a fantastic day of football and that fans can really savor it,” added Iniesta, clearly excited about the final.
Now 41 and retired from professional football since October 2024, Iniesta leaves behind a legendary career: four Champions League titles (2006, 2009, 2011, 2015) and three Club World Cups with Barcelona, plus a starring role in the golden era of La Roja.
With the Spanish national team, he won two European Championships (2008 and 2012) and scored the iconic goal that gave Spain their first-ever World Cup in South Africa 2010. An unforgettable legacy from one of the greatest to ever play the game.
