Dembélé Returns to PSG Training: Will He Start Against Arsenal?
Ousmane Dembélé is back training with PSG just two days before their Champions League semifinal second leg against Arsenal. Will he be ready to start?
Just 48 hours before Paris Saint-Germain host Arsenal in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinals, Ousmane Dembélé has taken a major step toward a potential return to action. The French forward was back with the group on Monday, raising hopes that he could feature—maybe even start—on Wednesday night at the Parc des Princes.
Encouraging Signs in Training
After picking up a right hamstring strain in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium, the 2018 World Cup winner was forced to sit out several sessions. But during Monday’s practice, he managed to complete three out of the four drills set by the coaching staff—exactly as planned.
Sources close to the club confirm that Dembélé responded well to the workload and felt “positive sensations” during the session. While medical caution remains, the aim is to have him at least included in the squad list for the clash against Mikel Arteta's side—and possibly see him in the starting lineup.
PSG Needs His Spark
Dembélé has been one of the key figures in Luis Enrique's attacking scheme this season, with his pace and creativity often unlocking tough defenses. His injury in the first leg was a major blow to PSG, who fell 3-2 in London and now need to overturn the deficit at home.
With Kylian Mbappé expected to lead the line, having Dembélé back could offer the team a crucial attacking boost. His potential presence on the wing would also free up space for Bradley Barcola or Marco Asensio, depending on the tactical approach.
Fans will be eagerly watching the final training session on Tuesday, which could provide more clues as to Dembélé’s availability.
Paris Saint-Germain must win at home to advance to the final in Munich, and a fit Ousmane Dembélé could be just what they need to turn the tie around. The decision now rests with the medical staff and Luis Enrique, who may be tempted to unleash the winger from the opening whistle.
