Phil Foden was the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick at the Etihad Stadium as the English side showcased its attacking firepower and claimed three valuable points in the European competition.

The scoring opened in the 12th minute when Elliot Anderson capitalized on a rebound after Enzo Fernández's free kick struck the crossbar.

Foden doubled City's lead in the 34th minute, finishing from close range after a well-worked combination with Rico Lewis.

AEK Athens responded in the 52nd minute through Stavros Pilios, who finished a counterattack with a low shot.

However, Rayan Cherki restored City's two-goal cushion in the 57th minute with a brilliant individual effort, cutting inside the penalty area before firing the ball into the net.

Foden scored his second goal of the night in the 65th minute, curling a precise finish from inside the box after another assist from Rico Lewis.

Finally, in the 76th minute, he completed his hat-trick by converting from close range after receiving a pass from Ryan McAidoo.

With a 5-1 victory, Manchester City bounced back from their defeat to two-time defending champions PSG, returning to winning ways to reach six points and climb to sixth place in the standings.
