(VIDEO) Marcelo Impossible Challenge Proves He Could Still Play for Real Madrid
The former Real Madrid player steals the spotlight in the Bavarian city as an ambassador for a video game brand. A five-time European champion, he enjoys the atmosphere leading up to the big final.

Marcelo Vieira has returned to a Champions League final, though this time not on the pitch. The legendary Brazilian left-back is in Munich, host of the decisive match for the coveted trophy, as an ambassador for a well-known video game brand. And as usual, he hasn’t gone unnoticed.
A five-time Champions League winner with the white jersey (2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2022), Marcelo knows exactly what it takes to play and win a Champions League final. In fact, he was a starter in the first four finals and a key figure in Real Madrid lineup during one of the club’s most successful eras. It’s no surprise he was named to the Champions League “Team of the Season” for three consecutive years (2016, 2017, and 2018).

During his 16 seasons with Real Madrid, Marcelo won 25 titles and became one of the most decorated players in the club history. His impressive list of honors includes, besides the five Champions League titles, 6 La Liga championships, 2 Copa del Rey trophies, 5 Spanish Super Cups, 4 FIFA Club World Cups, and 3 UEFA Super Cups all during an era largely dominated by one of the best Barcelona teams in history.
But his legend didn’t stop in Europe. In 2023, after returning to his native Brazil, Marcelo won the Copa Libertadores with Fluminense. That title placed him among the exclusive group of players who have won both the European and South American championships. He also claimed the Recopa Sudamericana in 2024 and two Carioca State Championships, one in 2005 and another in 2023.
Today, Marcelo continues to enjoy football from a different perspective, but with the same smile and charisma that made him a global idol. In Munich, at the heart of Europe football celebration, the Brazilian star is once again in the spotlight. And even though he’s no longer wearing the jersey, his name continues to shine brightly.
