(VIDEO) How PSG lifted their first-ever UEFA Champions League trophy after beating Inter Milan
This Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain finally added the Champions League trophy to their cabinet, winning their second-ever final and their first title in Europe’s top competition. The Parisian side crushed Inter Milan in Munich with a massive 5-0 victory, leaving the Italians to wait for another shot at a fourth European crown.
Spain leads the pack with the most Champions League titles, holding twenty wins: fifteen for Real Madrid and five for Barcelona. England follows with fifteen trophies spread among Liverpool (6), Manchester United (3), Nottingham Forest (2), Chelsea (2), Aston Villa (1), and Manchester City (1).
Luis Enrique, mastermind behind a historic treble
Coach Luis Enrique pulled off a never-before-seen feat by guiding PSG to their first Champions League title and securing the first-ever treble in French football history. His team dominated in Munich, leaving an unforgettable mark on the European stage and earning him his second treble as a manager.
From tactics to execution, PSG was an unstoppable force. Luis Enrique completely shut down rival coach Simone Inzaghi, while players like Vitinha, Fabián Ruiz, João Neves, and Ousmane Dembélé shone in midfield. Désiré Doué stood out as the star with two goals and a killer performance.
Big win and a perfect finish
With the game sealed by the 63rd minute, the Paris side didn’t slow down. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia—aka ‘Kvara’—scored the fourth goal, a nod to his former club Napoli, and Mayulu capped off the rout to spark celebrations back in Paris.
PSG rightfully claimed the European crown, and Luis Enrique was hailed as the architect of a legendary team. At last, the Paris club reached European glory with an unforgettable title.
