A dream signing… stuck in limbo

Victor Osimhen has made up his mind—he wants to continue at Galatasaray. His salary is agreed, the contract is ready, and he’s even turned down bigger offers. But finalizing his move from Napoli has turned into a nightmare. The Italian club, led by Aurelio De Laurentiis, keeps throwing curveballs with last-minute demands.

Galatasaray already agreed to pay the €75 million release clause—€40M up front and €35M in two installments—but Napoli want more. They’re asking for 20% of any future sale and a clause preventing Osimhen from joining any Italian club for three years. Galatasaray will only agree to two. Meanwhile, Osimhen remains out of the squad, and negotiations are at a stalemate.

A superstar salary package

While the two clubs exchange moves, Osimhen is lined up to earn a blockbuster deal: €15 million net per season, plus another €10 million from endorsements, over three years with an optional fourth. Galatasaray vice-president Abdullah Kavukçu didn’t hold back: “This deal proves no one can mock Galatasaray. Osimhen wants to be here.”

The Nigerian striker rejected higher offers elsewhere to return to the club where he shined last season. Galatasaray are pushing to finalize the deal soon and make it official.

Waiting for the final move

Galatasaray dreams of breaking into the top five clubs in the world, and signing Osimhen would be a major statement. But to get there, they first have to overcome the final obstacle in this transfer chess game: De Laurentiis.
