NO JOKE: SALAH IS NOW A TRABZONSPOR PLAYER

The most sensational move of the summer transfer window was undoubtedly Mohamed Salah choosing Trabzonspor.

After a spectacular career with Liverpool, the Egyptian superstar is taking on a new challenge in Türkiye in the famous burgundy-and-blue jersey. Trabzonspor is not stopping there, either, with the club continuing its efforts to sign Uruguayan striker Darwin Núñez.

If that deal goes through, Trabzonspor could have one of the most intriguing attacking duos in European soccer.

HE ENDED ARSENAL’S TITLE DROUGHT — CAN HE DO THE SAME FOR BEŞİKTAŞ?

Beşiktaş has also emerged as one of the most active clubs of the transfer window, making a move that has attracted plenty of attention across European soccer.

Leandro Trossard, one of the key players in Arsenal’s squad that ended the club’s 22-year title drought, has chosen a new challenge in the black-and-white jersey. Beşiktaş has one clear objective: ending its own five-year wait for a championship.

The club’s other major move was the signing of Dusan Vlahovic, who chose Beşiktaş after his time at Juventus. The Serbian striker is looking for a fresh start in Türkiye and is expected to be one of the biggest weapons in Beşiktaş’s pursuit of the title.

FENERBAHÇE’S TRANSFER SHOW

Since 2014, Fenerbahçe has had the longest title drought among Türkiye’s Big Four, going 12 years without winning the league. This season, however, they have clearly demonstrated their ambition through their activity in the transfer market.

With global stars such as N’Golo Kanté, Marco Asensio and Matteo Guendouzi already on the roster, the Istanbul club has underlined its determination to win the title by adding Mason Greenwood and Romelu Lukaku.

ALL EYES ON GALATASARAY

Despite its rivals' headline-grabbing moves, Galatasaray has had a relatively quiet transfer window. But the defending champions already have one of the most impressive squads in European soccer.

With stars such as Victor Osimhen, Leroy Sané and İlkay Gündoğan, Galatasaray has kept the core of its championship-winning team while also pursuing some of the biggest names in the game.

Talk of potential moves for Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli, Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister and Milan’s Rafael Leão has only added to the excitement surrounding the club ahead of the new season.

THE OTHERS EMERGE FROM THE SHADOW OF THE STARS

But the Super League story isn't limited to the Big Four.

Clubs from outside Istanbul’s traditional powerhouses are also making ambitious moves as they look to challenge for the title and secure European qualification. Denmark international Andreas Skov Olsen’s move from Wolfsburg to Istanbul Başakşehir, Alex Matos’ arrival at Göztepe from Sheffield United, and Gabriele Guarino’s move from Empoli to Samsunspor are among the most notable deals of the transfer window.
