Osimhen close to completing permanent Galatasaray move
Following a successful loan spell with Galatasaray last season, Victor Osimhen is on the verge of making a permanent move to the club.
Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has confirmed that the club are close to completing a permanent move for Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen spent last season on loan with the Super Lig side from Napoli, helping them to the league title and Turkish Cup crown.
The Nigeria international finished as the division's top scorer last season, netting 26 goals in 30 appearances for Buruk's side.
He found the back of the net every 89.4 minutes in the top flight with a conversion rate of 18.8% from the 138 shots he took in 2024-25.
Osimhen also scored five times in four Turkish Cup matches, including a brace in the final against Trabzonspor.
Speaking about Galatasaray's preparations for the new season, Buruk said he was keen to get the Osimhen deal over the line.
Buruk added that the club's priority was to sign the 26-year-old and a goalkeeper, saying: "Everything is going well with Osimhen. We are nearing the end.
"We want it to end as soon as possible. He was already positive on the player's side. The talks with Napoli are also very positive. We hope that it will be concluded in a short time.
"Our whole transfer situation was related to Osimhen. There is a significant budget.
"After this budget, it is very important where and what we can use. We've always waited for him and we'll have other thoughts after this transfer is over.
"We are very clear about the goalkeeper, we will recruit a player here. We have a very good goalkeeper like Gunay. Jankat also performed very well in the friendly matches.
"We want to add another goalkeeper to our squad and make up for our shortcomings. There will be positions that we are considering, but we will have to get players out of our hands.
"There will be transfers that we are considering, but at the moment our priority is Osimhen and the goalkeeper."
