Milan Škriniar Returns Home: Fenerbahçe Confirm His Signing for Four Seasons
Fenerbahçe has officially completed one of the most notable summer moves by confirming the permanent signing of Milan Škriniar, who has signed a four-year contract with the Turkish club. The Slovak center-back joins from Paris Saint-Germain and will earn a net annual salary of €8 million, according to the Istanbul-based side.
A Return Welcomed by the Fans
At 30 years old, Škriniar returns to a place where he felt at home from the very beginning. He had already worn the Fenerbahçe shirt during the second half of last season, when he joined on loan from PSG. During his official presentation, the defender didn’t hide his joy: “Since arriving in January, I’ve felt like I was at home. I’m grateful for the love from the fans, my teammates, and all the coaching staff,” he said in an interview with the club’s official television channel.
The Slovak international made it clear that his decision was straightforward from the start of negotiations. “There were no other options for me. Everything was perfect. I thank the president, the coach, and everyone who made this transfer possible. I hope we’ll be successful together. We’ll need our fans in every match,” he added.
A New Chapter After Paris
Škriniar joined PSG in 2023 after his contract with Inter Milan expired, where he had previously been a key figure. However, he never truly settled into the squad led by Luis Enrique, who had not greenlit his signing. In fact, after returning from his loan spell in Turkey, he was relegated to train with PSG’s youth team as a clear message that he was not part of the club’s plans.

During his time with the Champions League winners, he played 37 official matches, although his role diminished over time. The permanent move to Fenerbahçe was sealed for a reported fee of €10 million, according to French outlet L’Équipe.
Last season, across both clubs, the defender made 28 appearances, contributing 3 goals and 2 assists. Now, with a new contract and strong fan backing, Škriniar aims to become a cornerstone in José Mourinho’s ambitious project in Turkish football.
The new chapter for Fenerbahçe is already underway: both Škriniar and recent signing Nelson Semedo completed their first training session at the club’s facilities. All signs point to a revitalized squad, and the backline already has its new leader.
