Ederson Could Leave Fenerbahçe After One Season
After just one season in Turkey’s Super Lig, Ederson is reportedly looking to leave Fenerbahçe. Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reported that the Brazilian goalkeeper is already considering several offers from other leagues and is seriously evaluating a move during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The goalkeeper arrived in Turkish football from Manchester City, where he won virtually every major title under Pep Guardiola and established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. However, his time in Turkey has not gone as expected.
José Mourinho’s Departure Changed Everything
Fenerbahçe’s season was marked by inconsistency and several major changes within the club. Ederson had been a specific request from José Mourinho, but the Portuguese manager left his position in August, completely altering the sporting project that had originally been planned.
In addition, the team never managed to find competitive stability, which also affected the Brazilian’s collective and individual performances.
Now, the goalkeeper’s future appears to be far from Istanbul. One of the destinations gaining the most momentum is Saudi Arabia, where Al Nassr, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, is reportedly interested in signing him to strengthen the squad for next season. A possible return to Brazilian football has also not been ruled out.

Saudi Arabia Emerges as a Possible Destination
One advantage for Ederson is that Fenerbahçe is not expected to place major obstacles in negotiations for his departure. The Turkish club is preparing for a significant restructuring process, and it remains unclear who will coach the team next season, as Zeki Murat Göle is currently serving only as interim manager.
The board believes that a sale could provide financial support for the project. Although Ederson is under contract until 2028, the club would reportedly be willing to listen to offers close to €10 million, a figure that could help strengthen the budget for the upcoming transfer market.
In addition, the Brazilian goalkeeper is expected to be called up to the Brazil National Team for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, where he is even considered the favorite to become the Canarinha’s starting goalkeeper.
A strong performance at the World Cup could further increase his market value and open the door to new opportunities with major clubs.
Everything indicates that Ederson’s time in Turkey is nearing its end. Now, the only question left is where one of the most successful goalkeepers of recent years will continue his career.
