Amedspor Comes From Behind to Beat Salah’s Trabzonspor With Dramatic Gift Orban Winner

  • Amedspor responded after falling behind and secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Trabzonspor, thanks to a 90th-minute goal from Gift Orban in Matchday 3 of the Süper Lig.

Amedspor produced one of the comebacks of the Süper Lig matchday with a 2-1 victory over Trabzonspor in Diyarbakır. The visitors took an early lead through Mohamed Salah, but the hosts responded with goals from Yira Sor and Gift Orban to claim all three points.

The team coached by Besnik Hasi moved up to six points following the result, while Fatih Tekke's Trabzonspor remained on four points after the opening three matchdays of the season.

Salah Puts Trabzonspor Ahead

The match began with opportunities for both teams. Just four minutes in, Yira Sor tested goalkeeper André Onana, who made the save to prevent the hosts from taking an early lead.

However, it was Trabzonspor who opened the scoring. In the 11th minute, Ernest Muçi found Mohamed Salah, who went one-on-one with the goalkeeper and finished to make it 1-0.

Amedspor continued to apply pressure and found the equalizer before halftime. After a handball inside the penalty area, the referee awarded a penalty. Mbaye Diagne stepped up from the spot, but Onana saved his attempt. The rebound fell to Yira Sor, who took advantage of the opportunity and scored to make it 1-1 in first-half stoppage time.

Gift Orban Completes the Comeback in the 90th Minute

The second half remained level for almost the entire 45 minutes. Trabzonspor tried to regain the lead and created an opportunity in the 70th minute, when a powerful shot was kept out by Alban Lafont.

Just when the match appeared destined to end in a draw, Gift Orban stepped up. The forward, who had entered the match in the 50th minute in place of Yira Sor, received a pass from Mehmet Yeşil inside the penalty area and sent the ball into the back of the net in the 90th minute to complete the comeback.

The 2-1 goal sparked celebrations for Amedspor, who secured their second victory of the season and moved onto six points.

In the next round of the Süper Lig, Amedspor will visit Kasımpaşa, while Trabzonspor will look to bounce back when they host Gençlerbirliği.
