Galatasaray Crushes Sivasspor 4-1 and Extends Süper Lig Lead
With two goals from Victor Osimhen and strikes by Lucas Torreira and Barış Alper Yılmaz, Galatasaray defeated Sivasspor 4-1 and widened the gap over Fenerbahçe in the Süper Lig standings.
First-half goal fest
In Matchday 34 of the Süper Lig, Galatasaray dominated Net Global Sivasspor 4-1 at RAMS Park, taking another big step toward the league title. Okan Buruk’s side sealed the result within the first 30 minutes with an offensive blitz led by Victor Osimhen.
The opener came in the 9th minute. After a run down the left by Eren Elmalı, a low cross found Victor Osimhen, whose shot was parried by Ali Şaşal Vural. The rebound fell to Lucas Torreira, who calmly finished from the penalty spot area to make it 1-0.
Six minutes later, at the 15-minute mark, Álvaro Morata and Eren Elmalı combined to set up Victor Osimhen, who scored from close range to double the lead. The third goal came in the 21st minute, when Barış Alper Yılmaz stole the ball from Tolga Ciğerci and fired from the edge of the box to make it 3-0.
Osimhen struck again in the 31st minute. After controlling a free kick taken by Sallai, he buried his shot past the goalkeeper to complete his brace and extend the score to 4-0.
Sivasspor scores consolation goal
Just two minutes later, Sivasspor pulled one back. A well-placed pass from Tolga Ciğerci found Rey Manaj in the box, and the forward slotted the ball between Fernando Muslera’s legs to make it 4-1.
With the win, Galatasaray moves to 83 points and, with one more match played, extends their lead over Fenerbahçe to 8 points. Sivasspor, meanwhile, remains in 16th place with 34 points, still threatened by relegation.
Next week, Galatasaray will visit Trabzonspor, while Sivasspor will host Sipay Bodrum FK.
