Trabzonspor responded in emphatic fashion with a dominant 5-0 victory over Gençlerbirliği at Papara Park on Matchday 4 of the 2026-27 Trendyol Süper Lig.
The home side virtually put the match to bed in the opening minutes. Paul Onuachu opened the scoring just five minutes into the game before Mohamed Salah doubled the advantage from the penalty spot in the 14th minute. Onuachu struck again in the 22nd minute to complete his brace and make it 3-0 before halftime.
In the second half, Ernest Muçi scored the fourth shortly before the hour mark following an assist from Salah, while Franculino completed the rout with 10 minutes remaining to seal the final 5-0 scoreline.
With the victory, Trabzonspor moved up to seven points and climbed to fourth place in the Süper Lig, sitting three points behind league leader Galatasaray.
What’s Next for Trabzonspor and Gençlerbirliği?
Next, Trabzonspor will travel to face Konyaspor on Saturday, September 12, on Matchday 5 of the competition. The team will then return to Papara Park to host Galatasaray on September 19.
Meanwhile, Gençlerbirliği will look to put the heavy defeat behind them when they host Kasımpaşa on Sunday, September 13, at Eryaman Stadyumu in their next Süper Lig fixture.
