Álvaro Morata could leave Galatasaray to return to Serie A with this club
Spaniard Cesc Fàbregas, now coaching Como 1907, has his eye on fellow countryman Álvaro Morata as a key signing for next season. The striker, currently at Galatasaray and captain of the Spanish national team, has reportedly been contacted directly by Fàbregas, with whom he shares a good relationship from their time together at Chelsea and with La Roja.
According to Italian outlets, the transfer won’t be simple. Morata is still under contract with AC Milan, even though he’s on loan at the Turkish club until 2026. For him to join Como, he’d need to cut his loan short, and a deal would have to be reached between Milan and the newly-promoted Serie A side to make the move permanent.
Serie A’s growing Spanish influence
Como 1907 surprised everyone in their first season back in Serie A after 21 years, finishing 10th under Fàbregas, with an attacking style that stood out in Italian football. Despite the retirement of Pepe Reina, the squad still has a strong Spanish core with players like Sergi Roberto, Álex Valle, Iván Azón, and Alberto Moreno.
Having already played for Juventus and Milan, Morata knows Serie A well and has had solid performances in the league. His signing wouldn’t just be a boost on the field, but would also bring experience and leadership to the locker room.
The interest in Morata comes as Fàbregas reaffirms his commitment to the Como project, despite offers from teams like Bayer Leverkusen and Inter Milan. The Spanish coach is already working on next season’s plans and sees Morata as a central figure in his rebuild.
