Milan Continue to Back Christian Pulisic
A Goal Drought That Raises No Concern
Christian Pulisic is going through a difficult stretch in front of goal, having now gone 14 matches without scoring. This kind of drought is unusual for a player who has delivered strong performances with Milan, establishing himself as one of the team’s key attacking figures.
His lack of goals has also carried over to the United States national team, where he failed to score in the last two matches against Belgium and Portugal. Despite this, there is no sense of alarm at Milan, where the situation is viewed as a normal part of a player’s form cycle. Several teammates have also publicly supported the American forward.
Backing from the Locker Room and Overall Impact
One of them, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, stated that these kinds of goal droughts are natural in football and emphasized that even without scoring, Pulisic continues to make valuable contributions to the team’s overall play. His point holds weight: in the most recent match against Torino, the American provided an assist and showed noticeable improvement in his defensive work.
He is currently averaging two interceptions per match, while his key pass rate has increased to three per game. Although his contributions may not always show up on the scoresheet, his influence on both the team’s attacking organization and defensive efforts has become increasingly evident.

A More Complete Role with the National Team
A similar pattern can be seen with the United States national team. In recent friendlies, Pulisic was among the players who covered the most ground during his time on the pitch. Additionally, 83% of his passes were played forward, and he generated close to four key passes across the two matches.
Pulisic is fully aware that this scoring drought is not typical for him, but he also recognizes the growth in other areas of his game. His overall level remains high, and his contributions on both ends of the field continue to be valuable. With his strong work ethic and consistency, it seems only a matter of time before he finds the net again and puts this run behind him.
