Luka Modric Wants To Bring Milan Back To Real Madrid’s Level
What Is His Goal With Milan?
Modric didn’t shy away from the subject: his goal is to help Milan compete at the highest level again. “The minimum objective is to qualify for the Champions League, but a club like this should aim to win trophies. We can't settle for mediocre seasons,” he stated firmly.
The Croatian compared his past to the present: “I spent 13 years at the biggest club in the world, and now I’m coming to one that, in previous years, was what Real Madrid is today. Milan needs to get back to that level. I’ll do everything I can to help make it happen.”
What Does He Expect From Italian Football?
Modric is well aware of what Serie A represents and how it has evolved in recent years. He praised the tactical organization of Italian teams and the league’s competitiveness: “There are many Croatian players here, and it’s clear that this league is regaining its level.”
Fully aware of the expectations surrounding his signing, the former Madrid star said he’s ready for the challenge: “My experience can bring a lot. I’m ready to give everything and try to replicate what I’ve done at other clubs.”
Can He Follow Zlatan’s Path?
At 39 years old, Modric is not afraid of new challenges. He even referenced Zlatan Ibrahimović, who returned to Milan at age 40 and played a key role in winning the Scudetto. “Hopefully something similar happens. I’d be thrilled to experience that,” said the Croatian, who now shares the top podium of Champions League winners between Milan and Real Madrid.

Why Did Modric Choose Milan?
Although he had an emotional farewell from Madrid, the veteran midfielder didn’t hesitate when the chance to join Milan came up. “I grew up watching Italian football, and Milan was my favorite team. My idol Zvonimir Boban played here, so I’ve always felt a special connection to these colors,” Modric told Croatian outlet 24Sata.
