Cristiano Ronaldo Beats Juventus Again… This Time in Court
It wasn’t on the pitch, but the result still counts. Cristiano Ronaldo has once again come out on top against Juventus in a multimillion-euro legal battle.
Another Victory Away from the Pitch
Cristiano Ronaldo added another win over Juventus, this time far from the field of play. The Portuguese forward definitively won the legal dispute he had been fighting against the Italian club and will not be required to return the €9.7 million he received in deferred salary payments linked to the COVID-19 period.
The ruling confirms a decision made months ago and represents a significant setback for the Bianconeri, who had attempted to invalidate the payment made to the player after his departure from the club.
The Origin of the Salary Dispute
During the COVID-19 crisis, Juventus and its squad agreed to freeze part of their salaries due to the club’s fragile financial situation. In Cristiano Ronaldo’s case, that money remained unpaid, with the promise that it would be settled once the critical period had passed.
However, after his move to Manchester United, the Italian club failed to honor that agreement, prompting the Portuguese star to file a legal claim demanding the unpaid wages.
The Courts Side With Cristiano Once Again
Four months ago, the courts had already ruled in favor of CR7, ordering Juventus to pay a sum close to €10 million. The club chose to challenge that decision before a labor court in Turin, even requesting that the money be returned.
The response was once again decisive: the court rejected the appeal and confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo does not have to repay the money. Juventus was also ordered to cover €80,000 in legal costs.
Will There Be Another Appeal?
For now, the case appears to be closed in favor of the player, although Juventus could still explore a final legal avenue. In the meantime, Cristiano Ronaldo once again emerges victorious from a showdown with his former club, reinforcing the idea that his relationship with the Italian giants continues to produce tense chapters years after his exit.
Another win for CR7. This one, signed by a judge.
