Santiago Gimenez's European adventure had begun with a rapid rise. During his time at Feyenoord, the Mexican became one of the most important attackers in the Eredivisie, registering 65 goals and 14 assists, while also winning league, cup and Super Cup titles.

That form was enough to attract the attention of AC Milan, who made a move for him in February 2025, with the expectation that Santi was arriving at one of Italy's biggest clubs after proving his abilities in important moments.
