Sporting CP kicked off a new era in winning fashion. In Paulo Fonseca's first match as head coach, the Lions defeated Moreirense 1-0 on Matchday 11 of the 2026-27 Liga Portugal season, thanks to a brilliant individual effort from Colombian striker Luis Suárez.

On a counterattack, Luis Suárez beat a defender down the right flank before unleashing a powerful left-footed strike from the edge of the box to secure the 1-0 victory.
