Wayne Rooney Volunteers to Help Manchester United
The former Manchester United player expressed the possibility of joining the new coach's technical staff and helping the Red Devils get out of this slump.
Wayne Rooney, part of Manchester United?
Wayne Rooney offered to help Manchester United get out of this slump during an interview with the British broadcaster BBC.
When asked about the possibility of joining the Red Devils as an assistant coach, the former player responded positively: “Of course I would accept, without hesitation,” Rooney told the BBC. “I'm not begging for the job, but if they were to offer it, I would accept. The most important thing now is to hire the coach.”
Since Ruben Amorim left Manchester United, the results have not been good, with the team being knocked out of the FA Cup by Brighton and drawing 1-1 with Leeds United in the Premier League.
Carrick arrives at Manchester United
Manchester United has reached an agreement with Michael Carrick to take over as interim manager of the club until the end of the 2025-26 season. The Englishman beat out Solksjær, the Norwegian who had been eager to fill the same role. This whole process was accelerated due to the urgency on the part of the club's management to find a replacement for Amorim.

Rooney's message
With the imminent arrival of the former midfielder, who already served as interim manager after Solskjaer's dismissal in 2021, Rooney has positioned himself as one of the possible assistants to the Englishman.
“Whether it is Michael, or Fletcher, or John O'Shea, or whoever, it has to be people who know the club. You need people who know the club, care about it, and know what it takes to be a Manchester United player. That's what's needed,” added Rooney.
