United Make a Statement With First Summer Signing
Manchester United have completed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Éderson from Atalanta for €45 million, with the player set to replace Casemiro in midfield.
The summer transfer window is only just getting underway, but Manchester United have already made a significant move by securing the signing of Brazilian midfielder Éderson from Atalanta in a deal worth €45 million.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the move with his famous “Here We Go,” signaling that all details have been finalized. Éderson is expected to sign a contract running until 2031 and will reportedly earn around €5 million per season.
The 26-year-old arrives after establishing himself as one of Atalanta’s most influential players. Since joining the Italian side in 2022, he has made 180 appearances, scoring 16 goals and providing six assists while becoming a key figure in midfield.
Éderson had attracted interest from several top European clubs over the past year. Real Madrid, Manchester City, Atlético de Madrid and Juventus were all linked with the Brazilian, but Manchester United ultimately won the race for his signature.
His arrival is viewed as part of a midfield rebuild at Old Trafford. The Brazilian is expected to replace Casemiro, who is widely anticipated to leave the club after four seasons.
Having already represented Brazil at senior international level, Éderson now faces the challenge of adapting to the Premier League and becoming a cornerstone of Manchester United’s future project.
