Mauricio Pochettino ruled out a return to Tottenham to replace Ange Postecoglou, claiming it was "not realistic".

Postecoglou was sacked on Friday, just over two weeks after he ended Spurs' 17-year drought by winning the Europa League title. However, Spurs also recorded their lowest-ever Premier League finish of 17th.

While Thomas Frank is reportedly the front-runner, Pochettino has been linked with a move back to his former club.

The Argentine spent five and a half years at Tottenham between 2014 and 2019, taking charge of 293 matches (W159 D62 L72), with a 54.3% win rate.

Pochettino also led them to the Champions League final in 2019 and the EFL Cup final in 2015, losing to Liverpool and Manchester City, respectively.

However, the 52-year-old, who became the United States head coach in October 2024, says he has no intention of leaving his current role.

"[Right now], it's not realistic," said Pochettino, after the USA's 2-1 defeat to Turkiye. "Look where I am. Look where we [his backroom staff] are. The answer is so clear.

"I think, since I left in 2019, my name has always been on the list [of rumours].

"I've seen the rumours; we are 100 coaches on the list. Don't be worried about that.

"If something happens [in the future], you for sure will see, but I am so happy in this moment, and we cannot talk about this type of thing."
