The Secret Love of Cole Palmer for Manchester United
The former City player and current Chelsea star would be open to returning to Manchester, but only to play at Old Trafford
Manchester United failed to sign Cole Palmer during his youth, and the attacking midfielder went on to spend 15 years at Manchester City. In 2023, he left the Etihad to join Chelsea for £42.5 million, but his future in London is starting to raise questions.
According to SunSport, the England international would be willing to return to Manchester, although he completely rules out going back to City. Palmer would rather fulfill his childhood dream and play for United, the club he has supported since he was a child and where his idol was Wayne Rooney
Groin injuries have limited his involvement this season, and although he is under contract with Chelsea until 2033, his situation is being closely monitored by United. Additionally, the potential departure of Bruno Fernandes this summer could open the door for Palmer as the ideal replacement at Old Trafford.
A key figure is Jason Wilcox, United’s current sporting director, who oversaw City’s academy during Palmer’s development and has always believed in his immense potential, even suggesting that he could become one of the best players in the world.
