The Records Erling Haaland Could Break This Season With Manchester City
The start of the 2025–26 season for Erling Haaland has been nothing short of otherworldly. The Norwegian striker for Manchester City has begun the campaign with his trademark hunger, scoring in nearly every match he’s played — both for his club and his national team.
With 18 goals in just 11 games across all competitions, the 25-year-old once again leads the Premier League scoring charts, with nine goals to his name. The only match he failed to score in was the 2–0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in August. Other than that, Haaland has been unstoppable, finding the net in nine consecutive games.
Historic records already under his belt
Since arriving in English football, Haaland has been breaking records at an unbelievable pace. This season, he’s already added two more to his growing list of achievements. First, he became the fastest player ever to reach 50 goals in the UEFA Champions League, achieving the feat in just 49 games — 13 fewer than the previous record holder, Ruud van Nistelrooy.
In addition, the Norwegian is now the top-scoring Norwegian player in Premier League history, surpassing Ole Gunnar Solskjær, the former Manchester United forward, with 94 goals in 104 appearances. His scoring rate remains so outrageous that it seems only a matter of time before he breaks records once thought untouchable.
The records still within reach
Haaland’s hunger shows no signs of slowing down. He is just six goals away from reaching the 100-goal mark in the Premier League, which would make him the fastest player ever to hit 100 goals in the competition’s history — surpassing Alan Shearer’s record, who needed 125 games to do it.
His dominance also extends to away stadiums: he has scored in 22 of the 23 grounds he’s played at in the Premier League. The only one left unconquered is Anfield, home of Liverpool, where he’ll have another chance in February.
On top of that, Haaland is chasing one of his own records — the most goals in a single Premier League season, which he set in 2022/23 with 36. If he maintains his current scoring pace, he could comfortably surpass that total.
A future filled with history
With a long-term contract at Manchester City, Erling Haaland has both the time and the talent to continue rewriting football history. He has already scored 136 goals for the Citizens, placing him ninth on the club’s all-time scoring list — with only Sergio Agüero (260) standing as a significant obstacle on his path to the top.
If injuries stay away, all signs point to the Norwegian giant continuing to write golden chapters in the history of world football.
