The Provocation of Erling Haaland After Manchester City’s Victory Over Arsenal
Haaland decides the derby his goal gives City a vital 2-1 cutting Arsenal's lead to three points the Norwegian calls for calm recalling the slump after West Ham
Manchester City Win
Erling Haaland was the star of the show at the Etihad Stadium, scoring the decisive goal that gave Manchester City a crucial 2-1 victory over Arsenal, reducing the Gunners' lead at the top of the Premier League to just three points and leaving City with a game in hand. The Norwegian's goal, which came in the 65th minute, settled a thrilling match that had opened with a brilliant goal from Rayan Cherki.
The temporary equalizer came after a mistake by Gianluigi Donnarumma, which allowed Kai Havertz to tie the score for City, before Haaland scored the winning goal. During the match, Haaland also sent a ball crashing into the post, while Arsenal had clear chances: Eberechi Eze and Gabriel hit the woodwork, and Havertz missed an opportunity in the closing moments.
Haaland's statements
In his statements, Haaland downplayed the opponent and emphasized the need to focus on his own team “I don't want to talk too much about them because they're an incredible team, and we need to focus on ourselves,” the Norwegian striker added. “We know the situation exactly. We're still in second place; we play on Wednesday. Some of us have been in this situation before, there are also a lot of new players. It's about staying calm and thinking about what you can do.”

The draw and the future
The striker also recalled the moment when, after the 1-1 draw at West Ham, many considered the league lost. “After West Ham, everyone wrote that it was over. That was the feeling.” He then added, demonstrating his pragmatic approach, “ It's boring, but you have to focus on each game. Enjoy this, but now you have to start thinking about (Burnley). That's the reality for this club in this title race, because the final weeks are when things are decided."
