Strand Larsen becomes permanent Wolves player on four-year contract
Jorgen Strand Larsen scored 14 Premier League goals for Wolves in 2024-25, and a purchase obligation in his loan deal has been activated.
Wolves have confirmed Jorgen Strand Larsen has made his loan move from Celta Vigo permanent, having penned a four-year contract with the club.
Strand Larsen joined Wolves on an initial season-long loan deal last year, having scored 13 goals in his final campaign in LaLiga in 2023-24.
The Norway international needed little time to get up to speed in the Premier League, despite Wolves flirting with relegation before Vitor Pereira revived their fortunes.
Strand Larsen ended 2024-25 with 14 league goals as Wolves finished 16th, having been 19th and four points from safety when Gary O'Neil was sacked in December.
Strand Larsen's 14 goals came from chances worth 10.27 expected goals xG, and among all players to net at least five Premier League goals last term, the 25-year-old had the third-best shot conversion rate (25.9%) and the second-best shooting accuracy (69.4%).
Eight of those goals came under Pereira, including a run of seven goals in eight games between March and May.
As Wolves embarked on a six-game winning run to pull clear of danger, Strand Larsen became just the second player to net in four straight Premier League matches for the club, after Henri Camara in 2004 (a run of five), and the first to do so in four successive victories.
Clauses present in Strand Larsen's loan deal ensured his stay would become permanent if he hit certain performance-related targets, and he has now committed his future to the club until 2029.
"It's been a good first season in the Premier League," Strand Larsen told the club's website when his permanent switch was confirmed on Tuesday. "I'm proud of what I've done.
"I've been able to take the steps earlier than I've done before. Previously, when I moved to a new country, I've needed more time to get into it and score goals.
"As a striker, the team need you to score the goals and be on the end of the crosses, so to score 14 goals – and come back after my injuries and a little dip of form – it was a good season for me in that respect.
"Since Vitor and his staff came in, I scored eight goals, and seven goals in eight games, so it was a good end of the season, and as a team we progressed in a really good way for next season."
Strand Larsen will link up with another former Celta player, creative midfielder Fer Lopez, next season, with the Spaniard arriving in a £19m deal last month.
Wolves open their 2025-26 Premier League campaign against Manchester City on August 16, before visiting Bournemouth and hosting Everton before the end of August.
